Anne Heche was an American actress, director, and screenwriter. Heche's film credits include Donnie Brasco (1997), Volcano (1997), Six Days, Seven Nights (1998), Return to Paradise (1998), John Q (2002), and Catfight (2016).

Heche was born in Aurora, Ohio, the youngest of five children of Nancy Prickett and Donald Joseph Heche. Her father was a Baptist minister; her mother was a homemaker. When Heche was nine years old, her family moved to New Jersey where she grew up and attended Ocean City High School.

Heche's first acting role was as a supporting character in the 1987 ABC soap opera All My Children. She played commedia dell'arte character Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos at the Los Angeles Opera in 1991.
