I was disinherited by my father in his Last Will and Testament. It didn't come as a complete shock to me. But I always thought he loved me nonetheless. But apparently, that wasn't the case. In his Will, he left everything to my brother and sister, and completely cut me out.
My dad decided I’m not financially responsible and that I would just blow through any money he left to me. So instead, he decided it would be better if my brother and sister got everything. And while it still hurts to know that he didn’t think I was capable of handling his money responsibly.
He had said go out and earn your own money. So that's what I'm doing. I'm out here working hard and making my own way in the world. And I'll show him that I can be responsible with money. That I can handle it just fine.
But it still stings to know that he didn't believe in me. That he thought so little of me that he didn't even want to give me a chance. I guess some fathers just don't understand their daughters. But I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm going to keep my head up and prove to him that I can do this. That I can make it on my own without his help.
So that's my story. I'm sure there are others out there who have been in similar situations. But I'm not going to let my father's actions define me. I'm going to move on and make something of my life.
